The 17th edition of the International Book Fair Book fest will kick out on Wednesday at 12:00 PM in Pavilion B2 at Romexpo, with a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
This edition has 200 exhibitors and 150 publishers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, which is this year's guest of honor. Book fest 2024 will feature over 400 events, including new book signings by Petre Mihai Băcanu, Cristian Tudor Popescu, Gabriel Liiceanu, Radu Paraschivescu, and Tatiana Niculescu.
Given the enormous electoral significance of this year, Book fest organizers have organized a debate for Sunday, June 2, on the Arena stage. The debate will start with the question, "What does a country's president do?" and will coincide with the release of the book, "What do we want from the country's president?" "A civic guide for Romanian voters," written by Cristian Preda, Ciprian Mihali, and Sorin Ioniţă. The debates will be chaired by journalist Ovidiu Nahoi, editor-in-chief of RFI Romania radio station. They will include Cristian Preda, Sorin Ioniţă, and Gabriel Liiceanu.
The full schedule of events is available from May 29 to June 2 at the International Book Fair Book fest or on the official website.
Book fest is free to attend, with participating publishers expecting visitors every day from Wednesday, May 29, to Sunday, June 2, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM, and 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
